First Response Refresher - Webinar and short practical session

Thursday 27th August 7.30 pm to 9.00pm

First Response Refresher – Webinar and short practical session.

The blended course is delivered in three parts, you must complete all three parts for the course to be shown as complete on GO

  • pre course videos to watch
  • a 1.5 hour webinar to attend
  • you will need to show you can perform or instruct CPR and recovery position to a trainer

Information about full first response courses will be on the website soon.

The 1st Response course is valid for 3 years from the date it is awarded.  After this time period, 1st Response holders or those who have had an external First Aid training can attend a Girlguiding 1st Response Refresher course.  This refresher course will update your training for a further three years.  Likewise any external First Aid Course is also valid for 3 years from the date it is awarded. The Refresher course is to update your skills.

If you already have a first aid qualification, you may not need to attend our 1st Response course. For your first aid qualification to be considered equivalent, it should:

  • be valid
  • have involved a training that was at least six hours long
  • included training for both adult and child CPR
  • covered all other topics in 1st Response training

If you have completed an external course that does not include child or adult CPR, it may be possible for you to attend just the face to face part of this blended course, please email countyadmin@girlguidingroyalberkshire.org.uk for more information.

Use the 1st Response course syllabus checklist below to make sure that your external qualification covers the same topics as this training. Then let your Commissioner know so GO can be updated.
