FIRST RESPONSE TRAINING

SATURDAY 8th February

(Full first response course)

Venue:      Thirtover Place (Donnington Lodge), Ashmore Green Road, Cold Ash, Newbury.  RG18 9JD

Full Day First Response

1st Response is Girlguiding's own first aid course. It will train you to provide first aid to members in emergencies - in or outside of your unit meeting place. The course was created specifically for members of Girlguiding and The Scout Association. It is valid for three years. 1st Response can be completed by anyone in a volunteer role within Guiding.  This includes Leaders, Assistant Leaders, Young Leaders (14yrs+), Unit Helpers and Unit Occasional Helpers. Commissioners should hold a valid first aid or first response certificate.

If you already have a first aid qualification, you may not need to attend our 1st Response course. For your first aid qualification to be considered equivalent, it should:

•         be valid

•         have involved a training that was at least six hours long

•         included training for both adult and child CPR

•         covered all other topics in 1st Response training

If you have completed an external course that does not include child or adult CPR, then you should join part of a 1st Response or 1st Response Refresher course which covers this. Alternatively, ask a Trainer to do a one-to-one update for you.

Use the 1st Response course syllabus checklist below to make sure that your external qualification covers the same topics as this training. Then let your Commissioner know so GO can be updated.

Cost            £20.00 (County Admin will e mail you with instructions on how to make payment)

Time:          Registration 8.45am, course starts 9am to 4pm
