Young Leader Programme

Young Leader Coordinator - Sian Betteridge

The Young Leader Development Programme is for girls aged 14-17 who want to gain leadership skills.  Young External Volunteers, volunteering in Girlguiding as part of their Duke of Edinburgh Award, can also take part in the Young Leader Development Programme.

The programme consists of a welcome leaflet and 12 modules.  There is a badge for completing the Welcome leaflet, and for every 4 modules completed after that there is a badge and a certificate. Leaders Check list

  • Contact the Young Leader Coordinator and let them know when a Young Leader joins your unit, so they can be sent a welcome pack.
  • Help the Young Leader log on to Go, you may need to ask you commissioner to update their email address and mobile number to the young leader's rather than their parents so they can log on.
  • Help the Young Leader log on to the Learning Development Platform
  • Support them so they can complete the 14-17 safe space training
  • Become familiar with the Young Leader Development Programme
