Meet the Team

County Commissioner - Jane Yorke

I am the County Commissioner for Royal Berkshire, and I'm responsible for Guiding across the County. I also represent our County at Region and National level. I was a Guide and Young Leader and rejoined when my daughter became a Brownie. I have been a Brownie and Guide Leader in Woodley District, for nearly 20 years. I have also been a District, Division and Assistant County Commissioner. I am married to Graeme and have 2 grown up children.

I work in collaboration with the County Team to organise activities for young members and volunteers and provide opportunities for learning and development. We work to ensure that our volunteers feel valued and supported and have the skills and resources to undertake their roles within the County.

I am very lucky to have the support of my Assistant County Commissioner, Kim, and the volunteers who make up County Team, without whom I could not carry out my role. I am very grateful to the whole team for taking on these additional roles alongside their other Girlguiding roles and commitments.

Assistant County Commissioner - Kim Prior

I've been involved in Guiding since I joined as a Brownie when I was 7. Unfortunately, there were no Rainbows back then so I had to wait! Guiding is in my blood - my Granny helped to run the Salvation Army Guide Unit in central Reading in the 1960s and my mum was a Guide and then an Air Ranger. Now my daughter is following on and enjoying her own Guiding adventure. I've had lots of Guiding roles over the years but my most recent are as County International Adviser and Assistant County Commissioner. I'm also currently a Guide and Ranger Guider in Reading. My role as International Adviser involves organising our county INTOPS (International Opportunities) selection day and supporting the girls who then go on to region selection. I'm also here to support any units who would like to organise their own international adventures. As Assistant County Commissioner I do a bit of all sorts! Supporting our Guiding Delivery team of brilliant advisers, organising events and generally being on hand to help Jane as County Commissioner. I really enjoy meeting and chatting with girls and adults in Guiding - that's what Guiding is all about for me. I am lucky to still be in the same district where I joined Brownies all those years ago and really cherish the friendships I've made there. If there's anything I can help with, please just get in touch!

President - Jenny King

I have been part of Girlguiding since the age of 7, when I made my Promise as a Brownie (there were no Rainbows in those days!) Later I became a Pack Leader, Young Leader and eventually Brown Owl with 30th Reading Brownies. I still help as an Assistant Leader, but now devote more time to running the Rainbow unit. Over the years I have held various Guiding roles, including Division Commissioner, County Commissioner, County Leadership Coordinator, Mentor and DBS Verifier. More recently, as well as joining the Trefoil Guild, I have served as County Awards Coordinator as well as County President. All of this has enabled me to share in and pass on the unique experiences that Guiding offers across the whole age spectrum, and to see the valuable part that it plays in shaping so many lives.

Chair of Finance - Mary Ouseley

I have been involved in Girlguiding for many years, first as a Brownie Leader and now as Chair of Finance at both County and Division level. I am also a member of the Trefoil Guild.

Chair of Properties - Pauline Fothergill

I have been Guiding in Windsor for over 30 years mainly as a Brownie Leader and leadership mentor. I have also been Assistant County Commissioner. As Properties adviser I support the County owned property, Thirtover Place , and other properties managed by Girlguiding districts and divisions across the county.

County Administrator - Gillian Crawshaw

Gillian is our fabulous administrator. She is secretary to the County Trustee, Operations and Finance meetings, does all the admin for our training courses, is County badge secretary and lots more besides.

Gillian is a Brownie Leader in Hertfordshire, where she lives.

Chair of Thirtover Place Management Committee - Sarah France
