A Safe Space Level 1 and Level 2 for Young Leaders

Safety is at the heart of everything we do. Because we know that when girls feel safe, they feel brave enough to do things they never thought they could. That’s why we’ve updated our A Safe Space training.

A safe space now comes in four levels as a Young Leader you will need to have Level 1 and Level 2

This training is for Young Leaders and Rangers aged 14-18.

A Safe Space, Level 1 – An introduction

Find out how to keep girls safe so they can have fun and grow in a great environment

You'll learn about

  • A basic introduction to our safeguarding policy and processes
  • Your role and responsibility
  • Volunteer Code of Conduct – how we behave when in guiding
  • What to do if you have concerns about a member
  • Where to go to for help

A Safe Space, Level 2 – Creating a safe space

Find out what you can do to create a safe space

You'll learn about

  • What is a safe space and why it’s important, 
  • What to do if you have concerns a bout a member
  • How to create a safe space
  • What to do if it isn’t safe
  • How to keep yourself safe
  • Where to go to for help
Course runs 9.30am to 12.30pm

You will need to wear uniform or guiding wear and if you are under 18 bring a consent form with you (this will be emailed to you from countyadmin@girlguidingroyalberkshire.org.uk) you will also get an automated e mail from the website confirming your space.
