Help! I need somebody

This event has been cancelled. The school have made the difficult decision to cancel our booking to protect their young people.

A day event with lunch included covering the ‘what if’s…’ from a Girlguiding emergency to challenging behaviour in our local areas, come and be reassured you have all the tools to ensure we are doing our best.

Session one – Trainer Beverley Osborne - It would never happen to me!

A chance to explore what happens in a Girlguiding emergency away from the unit meeting place through a simulation-based exercise.  As the scenario unfolds, you will look at the situation from different perspectives (Home Contact, Leader in Charge, Commissioner) and have the chance to chat through the actions both you and others should take; as well as explore key questions such as “what if ……”  The session will also provide practical help and support - sharing tried and tested ideas as well as highlighting any key Government advice.

Session two – Trainer Deborah Meadows – We do our best - it isn't always easy

It isn’t always easy to know how to responds to challenging behaviour in various situations, parents, girls, adults in District, Division and County. This session will furnish you with guidance to deal with tricky situations and conversations. Girlguiding provides leaders with a Code of Conduct and expectations of a Trustee but also learn about the support and backing Girlguiding will give you in these difficult times.
