Division Commissioner - Julie Dennis
"I first joined Girlguiding as a Brownie leader over 30 years ago, when my daughter joined Brownies and I haven’t looked back since! I have held a variety of roles over the years, including district commissioner, division commissioner and division residential adviser. In addition to my commissioner role I am a Rainbow and Brownie leader and I also volunteer at our local Guide and Scout shop. In my role as Division Commissioner, I am fortunate to work with some fantastic volunteers who deliver great guiding throughout Earley, Woodley, Twyford and Sonning. I feel very privileged and proud to be in this role and to be an active part of our local community."
Bulmershe consists of 3 Districts covering the areas of Earley, Woodley, Sonning, Charvil, Hurst and Twyford. We have over 150 amazing volunteers delivering great guiding to around 640 young members, in Rainbow, Brownie, Guide and Ranger units. In addition to our regular unit meetings, we enjoy joint meetings, adventurous activities, residential trips, events and activities. We are regularly seen fundraising at local community events such as Woodley Extravaganza, Earley Green Fair, Hurst Show and Twyford Donkey Derby.
We are fortunate to have several students from Reading University joining us as volunteers and we are supported by 2 Trefoil guilds and a Friends of Guiding group.
