Girlguiding Berkshire has a variety of grants available for you to apply for to give girls and volunteers help to fully participate in Girlguiding, attend trips, residentials and international experiences. Volunteers can also apply for help with the cost of attending trainings and to help grow local Guiding.

Young Persons Bursary

For Rainbows, Brownies, Guides or Ranges or Young Leaders up to the age of 18 years.  To be used to enable a young person to attend a Girlguiding event (day or residential) or a training course. 

Bridgeman Bursary

This Grant is available to any member of Girlguiding Royal Berkshire, adult and young person. This is a grant, up to a maximum of £300, made to individuals for relief of poverty or health or for educational purposes or for purchase of equipment/materials to fulfil a guiding role.  For example, requests may be made for the purchase of guiding wear, payment of unit subscriptions (which should be requested in arrears) or to attend a training course.

International Grant – Individual

For Leaders and Delegates chosen to represent the County on Region International visits, taking part in area or unit international visits, individual members participating in international Guiding events or going on international visits with a Guiding purpose.

International Grant – Group

For Leaders and Delegates chosen to represent the County on Region International visits, taking part in area or unit international visits, individual members participating in international Guiding events or going on international visits with a Guiding purpose.

Leadership and Training Grant

To assist Rangers/Young Leaders, Leaders, Commissioners and Advisers to apply for a grant towards the costs of Training, Girlguiding events and gaining a qualification.

Growing Guiding Grant

Any unit, District or Division can apply for a Growing Guiding Grant to support an activity that will result in new members.

General Grant

Any member of Girlguiding Royal Berkshire, adult and young person, may apply for assistance to be considered for any item not covered by any other Grant.

June Braithwaite Bursary/WINGS 2020

Any member of Girlguiding Royal Berkshire, adult and young person, may apply for assistance.

Small grants for up to 50% of the cost (Wings Fee £275.00 plus any additional costs applied by the unit e.g. travel, gas etc.) for any girl or adult to attend Wings 2020.  The fund will be made to individuals for the relief of poverty or health.

Applications should be made on the form.   An application for assistance for a young person aged under 18 years, should be made by the Unit Guider and give full details of the young person they are supporting and the reasons for the application.
